Flying to and from Milford Sound can be very weather dependant. When you leave Queenstown, you may have fine, sunny weather but the mountain passes between Queenstown and Milford could be blocked by cloud.
However, if the forecast is good flying back to Queenstown from Milford Sound is a memorable flightseeing trip.
